Sensor technology and laser applied technology has greatly contributed to the increase of IT and factory automation in today's society.

Since SUNX was first established producing sensors that perform the 5 basic sensing functions for automation systems, we have been contributing to factory automation, particularly in production line applications for semiconductors and electronic components, which require the work of industrial robots. Also, in 1996, thanks to our effective use of composite and production technologies, we developed the laser marking system, which continued to serve the marking needs of countless products and components in a broad spectrum of industries.

Through our core businesses of Sensor operations, AiS operations, LMP operations and VOIS operations, we are able to answer all manner of needs from industry, society and the global market.

SENSOR Operations

As the leading manufacturer of sensors, we provide high performance sensors for a wide range of applications, facilitating the factory automation in many types of production lines, such as those used for semiconductor manufacturing.

■Examples of Applications

Detection of entry into robot operating areas If the light curtain (sensor) detects a person entering into the robot’s operating area, the robot’s operation is stopped to preserve the person’s safety. The sensors also contribute to improve productivity and cost reduction.

Alignment, seating verification, and mapping of glass substrate Balanced detection is achieved by using the optimal optical-fiber sensors for each of the various detections required for the glass substrate.

 

AiS Operations

AiS (Advanced intelligent Sensors) operations center on producing highly functional sensor products in response to the needs for downsizing, improving functions and the hybrid functionalities.

Advanced sensors have been developed with the advanced technology of SUNX to be used for inspection, identification, measurement, high precision positioning and static removal.

■Examples of Applications

Inspecting tire form High precision measurement of object surface irregularities on black rubber or other sensing objects with a low reflected light intensity can be performed with a long sensing range of 350 mm 13.780 in ± 200 mm 7.874 in.

Static removal During Pickup from Dicing Tape Static removers (ionizers) are useful for preventing damage to devices due to static electricity.

 

LMP Operations

In order to manage product quality and manufacturing, information is required to be marked onto various products and components such as automobile or electronic parts, and market for marking is continuing to increase. Laser markers are able to mark a large amount of information both clearly and quickly on small components, at the same speed as the production line.

We are actively expanding in the processing field with taking advantages of the laser.

The demand for processes such as substrate cutting and film sheet cutting in electronic part production is also growing.

LMP operation is to enhance total power with various product lineups in order to promote marking onto all kinds of objects, and is expected to grow as a top laser marker manufacturer not only domestically but also globally.

■Examples of Applications

Cellular phone keytop marking Key tops, various buttons and text displays are marked with laser markers, which are used to mark extremely accurately, and at high speed.

2-Dimensional Code marking Laser markers are also used for marking 2-dimensional codes (QR codes), which have rapidly been applied to widespread usage of managing lot numbers etc.

VOIS Operations

This Department is expanding operations into endoscopes, essential items for magnified observation processes in the manufacturing field (manufacturing / inspection section, quality control section). Users are from industries that are seeing remarkable growth, such as manufacturers of electric and electronic parts, semiconductors, auto parts and others. The business is expected to grow, for the users' solution support system is developing, such as product promotion, technical support, and after sales service by direct sales.
